Adults are smarter then to spill on carpets and if drunk or buzzed it will be more intelligent to move onto hard floors or sit near non carpeted floor but as far as kids go they dont listen unless your a very strict parent. So instead of wine testing people need to test with food dyes as those are in kids drinks. As far as adult drinks those are natural plant based colors which are much easier to get up using a shampooer vs just dabbing. As far as kid dye drinks it's best to act fast if set til dry then now you have a permanent dyed carpet unless you bleach that area until fully white then shampoo out that bleach using soap and water with a shampooer then while it is wet use carpet dye the same color as the previous color to dye the carpet and just let that dye dry and set as you would food dye or a kids colored drink. Simple as that. Or spend thousands or hundreds and redo the whole flooring.
