How Much To Tip Your House Cleaner This Holiday? Kirkland WA

How Much To Tip Your House Cleaner This Holiday? Kirkland WA

Let’s talk about how much to tip a house cleaner this holiday season. We know you’re generous, but how much to tip a house cleaner or maid is about how much they already make.

#HolidayTipping is less about you wanting to give money or gifts. The right tip shows gratitude and promotes loyalty.

Angela Brown, The House Cleaning Guru suggests #SavvyPerks as a way to show your thanks. It’s an inexpensive way to tip your cleaning specialist. And there is no worrying about how much to tip a house cleaner or if you should tip the owner of the cleaning company.

Today’s #AskaHouseCleaner sponsors are Savvy Cleaner (Training and certification for house cleaners and maids.) Savvy Perks (Employee benefits for cleaning business owners and their staff.) And My Cleaning Connection (A resource hub for cool cleaning stuff.)

As a cleaner I never expect tips but it is always appreciated when I get them sometimes its money, food, wine, gift cards etc.

I’ve been a house cleaner for 8 years now. No one gives me a tip!! Although, during the holidays most do leave either $50 to $100 tip but that’s only once a year. I can’t exactly tell them to tip me right? That’s kinda rude. Any advice on how to make my clients aware that they should be tipping?

I’m not originally from the US and I find the tipping culture here very difficult to understand. In the UK service workers get paid a reasonable wage so that they don’t have to rely on tips to survive. Over there tips are viewed as a bonus for exceptional service, not prompt service. I feel sorry for service workers in the US because even if you work really hard for a customer/client there is no guarantee that they will reward you with a tip. If everyone tipped appropriately then it would be a wonderful system, but honestly, I think it just kinda screws over the service workers. I can’t imagine what it’s like to not know exactly how much you will be able to earn from week to week knowing the bills have to be paid. It must be very financially stressful.

That whole acronym is a fallacy. It has a different beginning. Not bashing here, just being a bit of a wordsmith; "insure" with an "I" means to protect you if you die, "ensure" with an "E" means guarantee. That mnemonic device has always helped my students. I love Angela's videos and watch them a lot. She gives great presentations. I especially like the ones where she says scrubba-brushes.
